Current ́s global infrastructure demand is assessed at approximately US$ 4 – 5 trillion in annual expenditure, with a gap of at least US$ 1 trillion every year. Despite the much needed investment in infrastructure, and the significant supply of private capital from sovereign wealth funds, private equity funds, insurance firms and pension funds in excess of US$ 60 trillion, countries are often faced with the challenge of a dry pipeline of projects.
A country’s competitive economic advantage is dependent on a clear cut vision for infrastructure and long-term planning. However, government leaders must scrutinize their project portfolios and make a decision which ones to prioritize first based on their strategic importance.
In our experience, effective project preparation and careful risk allocation are essential for attracting investor’s interest, achieving the desired results, and ensuring the sustainability of an infrastructure project.
